Aldi announces new partnership with Connolly Meats
The new agreement will see Aldi supplied with a new range of sliced bacon and bacon joint products and is expected to create up to five jobs at the Scotstown based processor plant
The new range will be introduced to Aldi’s 113 stores all over Ireland in the coming months, including Aldi’s latest store in Carrickmacross which opened last June. Connolly Meats currently employs just over 50 people at its Scotstown facility.
In a statement, Aldi’s Group Buying Director Colin Breslin said, “At Aldi, we place huge emphasis on sourcing our meat from trusted Irish suppliers, ensuring our customers avail of the best quality possible. We are delighted to welcome Connolly Meats to our growing list of Monaghan based suppliers.”
Connolly Meats is the latest addition to a growing list of Monaghan based suppliers for Aldi that already works with a number of businesses in the local area. These include Town of Monaghan Co-Op, Aldi’s third Irish milk supplier, and Castleblayney’s IGWT Poultry Service Ltd, which supplies Aldi’s 100% Irish Bord Bia Quality Assured range of fresh turkeys.
